Location and history
Also known as Centro Comercial Yumbo, this sprawling complex opened in October 1982 in Playa del Inglés, at Avenida Estados Unidos 54. Over the decades it has become a vibrant hub for shopping and nightlife.
Layout and architecture
Spread across four underground floors and a series of open-air courtyards and terraces, Yumbo spans some 20,000 m². More than 200 shops line its winding corridors, offering everything from fashion and electronics to jewellery and beauty products.
Shopping and dining
You’ll find international chains—Zara, Mango, Stradivarius—alongside niche boutiques selling perfumes and souvenirs. The food court serves Indian, Turkish, Chinese, Italian and Spanish dishes, plus cafés and fast-food outlets. Family-friendly play zones and rest areas invite shoppers to linger.
Nightlife and events
By day it’s a laid-back retail centre; by night it transforms into Gran Canaria’s premier LGBTQ+ entertainment district, with around 20 bars, nightclubs, drag shows and theme evenings. Highlights include Maspalomas Pride in May, Winter Pride in November and Fetish Week in October.
Services and amenities
Yumbo Centre features a tourist information office, free Wi-Fi, ATMs, a pharmacy and accessible lifts. Many shops offer tax-free shopping for non-EU visitors.
Nearby attractions and transport
Just a 10-minute walk (about 1 km) from Playa del Inglés beach. Regular buses connect Las Palmas and the airport (lines 66 and 81), and for guests already in Playa del Inglés it’s an easy stroll.
